12/27/2009 - Under Armour Recruiting Classic 2009 Austin again showed very good skills during his time at the UA Recruiting Classic. He is a young player that can get it done on the mound in at 3B. In the INF, Austin has good feet, hands, and a quick release. He has a soft glove, sound backhand, and his throws are accurate with carry. His instincts and play skills are good, and if Austin can work to charge the baseball for better hops, and get around the baseball more, defensive skills can get even better. On the mound, Austin shows excellent athleticism along with good mound presence and pitchability. He has good balance, strides directly to the target, and he works both sides of the plate. Austin has a lot of potential on the mound, and with more extension and development of a CH, his stock on the mound can rise even further. Offensively, Austin has good balance, bat speed, and quick hands. He works to get his hips through the baseball and competes in the batters box. With a shorter stride, and a quicker load, Austin can improve his offensive grades.
