03/24/2013 - College PREP - Union City, CA Austin is lanky SS that will graduate in 2014 with a ton of athletic abilities. Defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions in the MIF. Feet are active / aggressive as he works around balls, displaying soft / quick hands. He needs to play through balls more and increase foot quickness to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate with life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At plate, Fisher continues to shine through an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and displays a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. Austin has a ton of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
