02/24/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Austin is a young 2-way player who can switch hit. On the mound, Austin has a long arm action, a controlled balance point, and level shoulders. He throws strikes, lands in a square position, and finishes completely. At 3B, Austin has firm hands, active feet, and he throws with accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Austin is equally as good from both sides of the plate. He has a good set-up, a level swing, and a middle approach. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
