08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY Austin emerged as a standout prospect for Team Eagles at the All-Ripken event in Cooperstown. His excellent speed on the bases made him a constant threat whenever he reached, creating scoring opportunities for his team. At the plate, he showcased impressive offensive skills, including strong bat-to-ball contact and the ability to drive the ball for power. He recorded multiple hits, highlighted by a hard-hit double that demonstrated his potential as a hitter. Defensively, he displayed a consistent swing and a keen awareness of the game, indicating his understanding of situations on the field. On the mound, Austin's fastball exhibited cut action as it worked downhill. His loose arm action and ability to hide the ball out of hand made it challenging for hitters to pick up his pitches. Overall, Austin's combination of speed, power, and pitching ability marks him as a prospect to watch as he continues to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
