12/20/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Austin continues to impress with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He shows active footwork as he attacks ball, working to square ball up. Glove action is soft and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 3 for 7. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/08/2023 - National Showcase - Springdale, AR Austin is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. He continues to improve in all facets of his game and is a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop. At SS he shows fluid footwork as he closes distance on batted balls. Good reads off bat coupled with his anticipation enable him to create good fielding angles. He fields from an athletic fielding position with his hands out front and a low funnel. Shows ability to make accurate throws to first base from multiple arm slots, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 88mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance. Shows smooth rhythm to his swing as he gets his hands separated and keeps his weight between his knees. Shows good plate discipline and is a patient hitter. Made hard contact during his round of BP as he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we see Austin having opportunities to play at the next level.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament Austin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.25 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

06/05/2023 - National Showcase - Tulsa, OK Austin is an OF/SS who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.85 seconds. In the OF good first step reads enables him to cover ground in all directions and make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Made accurate throws into infield from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 85mph. At SS he showed athletic actions with fluid footwork. Works from right to left and fields from an athletic/square fielding position with hands out front. Creates momentum to his target and keeps his feet active on his on-line throws to first base. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance. Smooth timing to his swing with the ability to control the barrel. Good lower half turn enables him to hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee the 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

04/02/2023 - National Showcase - Springdale, AR Austin is a C/SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. At C, he showed quick/fluid feet with a low/athletic sit. Quick/athletic actions as he gains ground to second base. Works thumb under baseball keeping balls in the strike zone. A clean transfer, with short arm action, and a high 3/4 release point and arm velocity up to 84mph and a best pop time of 2.27 seconds. In the infield, he showed good lateral range and plays with good energy/effort. Creates good angles and fields from a low fielding position with hands out front. Made accurate throws to first base from multiple arm slots and showed a quick release. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Short barrel path, with intent in swing, and good lower half turn. Hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 68mph during BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Austin making huge strides on the baseball field.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Austin is an athletic SS who showed as a prospect at the Pre-Season All American Tournament. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential is solid through an athletic setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing (80 mph exit velocity) with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Austin has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
