04/21/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Austin is a young, thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Austin has sure hands, active feet, and he attacks the ball aggressively. He fields in a low position, his exchange is quick and clean, and he throws with accuracy from a short / quick arm action. On the mound, Austin has level shoulders, he keeps his eyes on target, and he has good direction toward home. Offensively, Austin has an open stance, average bat speed, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes hard contact, has a line drive approach, and he can hit to all fields. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
