06/02/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Atlanta, GA Avery is a tall, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the hill, Avery has a long arm action, he works to his balance point well, and he has good direction toward home. At 1B, Avery has sure hands, nice range, and he throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Avery has a square set-up, good balance, and solid barrel accuracy. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
