11/03/2024 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Baron is a catcher and right-handed pitcher in the 2027 class from Flower Mound, TX, is an exciting young prospect with a strong foundation and plenty of room for development. With a medium frame and stout build, he has the physicality to add strength as he matures. Behind the plate, he displays quick, fluid footwork and an easy sit, showing agility and strong wrists when receiving pitches. His loud mitt and quick exchange allow him to gain ground to second base, where he delivers accurate throws with good carry, posting a best pop time of 2.06 seconds. His blocking skills are solid as well, maintaining good spine angle and effectively covering the five-hole. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance, demonstrating smooth timing, quick hands, and a direct barrel path that produces hard contact into both gaps at 88 mph. On the mound, he throws with intent, using a proper stride length and staying focused on his target. His fastball attacks hitters, while his curveball features late break, and his changeup keeps hitters off balance. As a sophomore with a frame that can carry more strength, Baron has immense potential and plenty of time to refine his skills and continue his development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
