10/15/2014 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Ben is a very gifted two-way player - SS/RHP that will graduate in 2016. Offensively, he generates excellent bat speed with his direct barrel path. He gets activated with his hands to launch and is coordinated with both his hands/hips to get the barrel to the zone accurately. He has good rhythm to hit and has an excellent approach that will allow him to hit as the pitching gets more competitive. Defensively, he is sure with his glove and has fluidity in his actions. He can change arm slots effectively, maintaining accuracy and strength. On the hill, he sat from 82-84 and topped out at 86 with his fastball. He spun an 11/5 slider in the zone and keeps the pitch low to induce ground-balls. He is mechanically sound, free with his arm action and gets good extension out front. He has a very good tempo and is a quality pitcher that competes. All in all - Ben is an intriguing player that has good overall actions and projection.
