07/05/2024 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Benjamin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, defensive abilities as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 54 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/10/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Sanford (Orlando), FL Benjamin is a strong 1B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 52-53 mph Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 6 years to further develop, Benjamin has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
