08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Benjamin is a hardworking, coachable two-way player who can contribute all over the field. He is comfortable in the box with the ability to make consistent contact and drive the ball at times. He shows a balanced swing at the plate from a loaded, power position and can use all fields for hits. He has a level swing and gets on plane behind the plate to match the pitch and hit line drives consistently. At third, he shows athleticism and body control to field with range to both sides and the ability to make tough plays. He fields square and has a clean exchange to make accurate throws across the diamond. On the bump, this big right hander features a three-pitch mix including a fastball at 70mph with cutting action, an 11-5 curveball with tight spin and a deceptive changeup to keep hitters off the fastball. He works to both sides of the plate effectively and mixes pitches to keep hitters off balance. Working on his frontside strength will help him whip his arm through and improve velocity. Benjamin is an interesting prospect we look forward to watching during his senior season.
