11/08/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training (MS) Bennett is a talented shortstop and right-handed pitcher from Iowa in the graduating class of 2031 who demonstrated significant growth during his time at the Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training in Arizona. On the field, he showcases a quick first step and strong reads off the bat, displaying athletic actions and consistently fielding balls out front with precision. His ability to pick hops and make accurate throws across the diamond highlights his solid defensive skills, with his arm strength fitting well for the position. At the plate, Bennett starts in an open stance and employs a high leg kick trigger, staying centered at contact with good balance, which allows him to generate power. As a right-handed pitcher, he has a smooth, repeatable delivery, which forms a strong foundation for his pitching mechanics. He commands both a fastball and a curveball, though continued work on his arm strength will help take his pitching to the next level. With impressive plays already under his belt and a huge upside, Bennett has the potential for significant improvement as he continues to develop. His work ethic and strong fundamentals indicate a bright future ahead in both positions.

07/22/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Minneapolis, MN Bennett is a young and developing SS/RHP from Charles City, IA. Does a good job of playing through the baseball and fields from a square fielding position. He fields out front with a low funnel. Creates momentum to his target and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He hits from a crouched stance with smooth timing. Gets on-plane early and makes contact to all fields. A right-handed pitcher who works down in the zone and has a clean arm stroke. He lands square to his target and gets his chest over his front knee. He challenges hitters with a FB that topped out at 57mph, an 11/5 shaped CB, and a developing changeup. We expect to Bennett to improve in all phases of his game with continued growth and development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
