08/15/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Tennessee, TN Bentley is an infielder/pitcher who plays above grade level. He shined at the Ripken Games in TN recently and impressed scouts with his overall talent level. In the field, he has smooth actions and a strong arm at 64 velo. He can field and release quickly with a 3.38 bat to glove-to-glove time. On the mound, he likes to challenge hitters. He shows maturity and is dialed in on every pitch. His breaking pitch sat 53 and working to maintain his fastball arm slot will create more deception. His FB sat 58-61 and worked both sides of the plate. In the batters box, he has an excellent bat path and competes with two strikes. He sees the ball well and will drive the pitch based upon location. He had a monster week in game action by collecting 7 hits (2 for extra bases) and drew three walks. He is also a threat on the basepaths and will take the free 90 when the opportunity presents itself. Overall, Bentley is a terrific player who has a bright future in the game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
