01/24/2016 - College PREP - Delray Beach, FL Blake is a R/R SS who graduates in 2019. With the bat, this righty stands in well with centered balance tracking pitches into the zone. He swings on a level path, works to engage his lower 1/2 and drives the ball on a line. Swinging on a more direct path with increased bat speed will result in increased power. At SS, Blake hustles and creates good angles working around the GB and into a square fielding position. He gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Skills in the MIF will continue to improve as he works to strengthen his arm (long toss) and play through the ball more toward his target. Bauer still has a ton of time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
