06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Blake is a hardworking and very coachable player who had a great event in Omaha. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is extremely coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/20/2017 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Blake is a tall, lanky OF and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.10. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through well. Throws are accurate with on line carry to his throws. At the plate, he shows an open setup with balance. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Blake has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
