05/18/2014 - College PREP - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Blake is a SS who has an athletic frame (6'1"/185). With the bat, he stands in with good balance and simple actions. He has good rhythm and gets back into a strong loaded position, waiting for his pitch. He shows pop to his pull-side and drives the ball on a line. He gets out of the box with speed and hustles down the line (7.06 60 yard dash). Defensively, he shows good pre-pitch footwork as he works into a square fielding position. He makes the plays cleanly and works in-line toward 1B. A long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development defensively.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
