Official Scouting Report

11/12/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Davie, FL Bobby is a compact, athletic two-way prospect with a great work ethic and projectable tools. He is a smooth fielder at short with clean hands to pick it and athleticism to make tough plays. He shows feel for the position with a quick first step and the ability to make all the plays to him. He has soft hands to field and gathers quickly to make accurate feeds and throws. At the plate, he swings it well from both sides on a compact path to the ball to make consistent contact. His level stroke leads to line drives to all fields and he also shows some pop to the pull side. On the mound, he features a fastball, changeup mix to keep hitters off balance with a good speed differential. His arm is clean and smooth and he gets to a consistent release point and shows good whip. More lower-half drive and direction to the plate will improve velocity and stuff moving forward. Bobby is a young, intriguing prospect we look forward to watching more as he develops.

05/30/2016 - National Tryout - Jupiter, FL Bobby continues to develop on the diamond. With the bat, this switch hitter has patience and tracks pitches into the zone. He remains balanced, gets loaded and swings on a level path. Creating more extension through contact will help to increase power at the plate. On the mound, this RHP gets good glove side lead and keeps his eyes on the target, working in-line toward the plate. FB now tops out at 63 mph while showing slight run and sink. He works to keep his CH down in the zone which will get GB outs. Utilizing his lower 1/2 to drive off of the rubber will help to get more into his FB. At 2B, Bobby hustles to GB's hit to his right and left. He gathers well and makes accurate throws to 1B. Working into a lower fielding position while presenting his glove more out in front will help to improve skills at 2B. Only a 2021 grad - Bobby still has a ton of time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Bobby is a very respectful player who showed improvement since we last saw him. He projects in the OF and on the mound, and he also plays some SS. As a RHP, Bobby showed a mature demeanor with an experienced approach. He throws with a deceptive arm action and pounds the zone with a 3-pitch mix. With the ability to throw strikes and command two off speed pitches, Bobby has showed he has a feel for the bump. In the OF, Bobby gets into good positioning and takes great angles towards the ball. Bobby displayed leadership as he communicated with his teammates during the game. Offensively, Bobby showed versatility as he hit from both sides of the plate with quiet, consistent actions. His swings produced line drives up the middle and will see more flight with lower 1/2 drive and overall strength. Bobby is a coachable player that never takes a moment to rest.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
