01/17/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Bobby continues to shine on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he tracks proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-75 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with loose spin and gradual break. Slider is harder with tight spin.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Bobby continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 5. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Bobby is a 2024 OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best displaying solid hitting/power potential through an aggressive approach. Hands are quick, and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with a HR. In the OF, he utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. He works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Defensive grades will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness and gets more reps. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Bobby has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
