01/03/2010 - College PREP - Jacksonville, FL Bobby is a OF with a solid, athletic looking frame. Defensively, Oliver takes good angles and proper routes to the ball as he fields the ball on the correct side of his body for fly balls and ground balls. We would like to see him work to quicken feet a bit to help him cover more ground when he gets to college. Arm presently slots him best for LF (or possibly CF) in college. Furthering arm strength should be a big focus (long toss program). Needs to also clean up footwork between catch and throw (minimize steps in his crow hop) and step straight towards his target on throws (not open). Overall, feet and hands are good, just needs more polish for the next level.Offensively, Bobby displays a great approach at the plate. He shows a strong lower half and does a good job using the whole field. Bat speed is good and balance is excellent. Sets up in the box well and tracks the ball nicely out of the pitcher's hand. Has an inside out approach and does a good job of staying short to the ball. Just needs to ensure that he stands tall and doesn't let back shoulder sink creating a slightly uphill path at times. His intangibles are all positive at present including excellent baseball instincts.
