05/07/2017 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Bomani continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a superior runner at 6.79. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in working to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range is tremendous as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground with his foot speed. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/27/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Bowie, MD Bomani is an athletic LHH OF who continues to work hard. Defensively, he has quick/active footwork and tracks down balls hit into the gaps. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and plays through it toward his target. With the bat, this lefty has a square setup with rhythm to load. Quick hands whip the barrel through the zone as he connects and uses the entire field. More power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive. Kopano has a ton of upside and will continue to progress in his skills and physically mature.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic Bomani is a solid two-way player with good raw skills. As an outfielder he displayed good arm strength, takes proper angles, and gets good jumps on the ball. Bomani can improve by developing physically and staying under control through his transfer. On the mound he works fast, has good rhythm and holds runners well but he needs to use his lower half to generate power and get more extension out front. At the plate Bomani displayed a good setup, barrel accuracy, and excellent bat speed. He needs to improve his pitch selection, balance, and keep top hand on the bat through finish.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
