Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

12/12/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Gambrills, MD Braden is a 2027 2B/RHP with a lot of upside. In the field, he moves well with active feet. He routinely squares his body into the fielding position and has solid pocket awareness. He exchanges are clean and his throws are accurate to the target. On the mound, he demonstrated a 3 pitch mix with a good feel for his front side actions. His FB was 51mph with movement on his 2 seam. His CB had a 9-3 shape and he located it well. He had good feel for his CH by dropping 7-8 mph from his FB. At the plate, Braden displayed a line drive approach with a 59 exit velo. He was balanced in his swing with a smooth rhythm. As he continues to mature physically, his talented skill set will increase as well.

07/22/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Bowie, MD Braden is a young (2027) R/R 2B. Defensively, he is aggressive and comes to get the GB. He works into a square/athletic fielding position behind the GB, tracking the ball into his mitt. He has a clean transfer and makes accurate throws to 1B. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range. As a hitter, this righty maintains a balanced setup with high hands. He takes a hack on a level path and hits the bat to all parts of the field. Working to get loaded sooner while engaging his lower 1/2 will help to get more into the swing resulting in more pop. Braden is still young and has a ton of time to develop his skills and physically mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
