07/13/2010 - College PREP - Washington DC, MD Brady is a tall, stocky Catcher who will graduate in 2012. Behind the plate Brady holds a soft / low target, and he looks the ball in. He centers the ball well on his chest when blocking, he takes good angles, and he covers the 5 hole well. Brady gets rid of the ball quickly to 2nd base, and throws accurately to his target. If Brady can add arm strength, widen his base, and slim down a bit, defensive grades will further improve. Offensively, Brady has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has quick hands, a line drive approach, and he can spray the ball to all fields. Hitting can further improve if Brady can keep his hands high, loosen his grip on the bat, and tap into more of his lower 1/2.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
