03/25/2018 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Brady showed at SS and also behind the plate as a catcher. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.24. In the MIF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Behind the plate, feet work in line to his target through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.14 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process but will benefit by working to get his body down sooner. At the plate, he shows a squared, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

Offensively, Brady has a tall, open stance with a firm front side. He keeps his weight centered and takes a good load. Brady has an on-plane swing path with choppy rhythm. He has an aggressive approach at the plate and battles with two strikes. Brady is a line drive type hitter who sprays the ball to all fields. In the field, Brady has a good first step and plays with active footwork. He takes effective angles to cover good ground and attack the baseball. Brady has a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. On the mound, Brady pitches with good rhythm and tempo working at a fast pace. He has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 slot with clean arm action. He extends through his release and has the proper stride length staying in line with home plate. Brady has a good lower half throughout his delivery and gets everything out of his frame. He features a full arsenal of pitches with a fastball, curveball, and changeup. Overall, Brady has a solid foundation of skills and potential to become even better with further development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
