08/23/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Branden is a athletic SS with a good upside in the 2029 class. In the field, he shows fluid feet and pre-pitch actions. He gains ground to the baseball and shows excellent range to his glove side. Fields in a low and athletic position and shows a firm pocket. His exchanges are clean and gains a short over the top slot. Throws are on-line at 57 velo. Gaining a feel on his feeds and spins will come with reps. At the plate, he shows solid actions and a repeatable swing. Stays square to the plate and balance stays inside his feet. Hands are fast and his barrel stays on-plane to create contact on the back of the baseball. Overall, once Branden gains strength, he will become a solid player.

06/12/2023 - National Showcase - Troy (Albany), NY Branden is a SS who will graduate in 2029. A young/developing player with some strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 3B, he works to center the baseball and plays with good effort/energy. Works into a square fielding position with good glove actions and hands out front. Made on-line throws to first base consistently from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 55mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance. A simple setup to start and takes an aggressive swing. Keeps bat flat in the zone for a long time and made consistent contact. During his round of BP, he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 60mph. With 6 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
