08/11/2010 - Pirate City World Series 2010 - Session 2 Brandon is an OF with a tall, wiry body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature, filling out. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.32 60 time. Feet are active in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind balls more, to play through with momentum to his target. Throws show accuracy but will benefit by getting on a long toss program to provide more carry and arm strength. Offensively, Baxter shows a balanced setup and makes consistent contact but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving quickly with instruction and adjustments. Brandon has abilities with a lot of abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
