06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Brandon is a lean, athletic RHP/OF who will graduate in 2018 with a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid, displaying smooth clean actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Defensive abilities will increase as he improves foot quickness and works to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with life and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. At the event, he was 4 for 11 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard to fastball velocities. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength,. Mental makeup is a plus as he is great team player and carries himself in a positive manner with high energy. He is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
