07/13/2010 - College PREP - Washington DC, MD Brandon is a lean, athletic, OF with good skills. In the OF, Brandon is aggressive to the baseball and he works behind it well. He makes plays on balls hit his way, has good hands, and he has a strong / accurate arm with carry to his target. A better 1st step will help already solid defensive numbers become even better. Offensively, Brandon has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has quick hands, a compact swing, and he gets good extension through the ball. Brandon has a line drive approach and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. Solid hitting grades can become even better with a lower back elbow, and a more level swing.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
