01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Ector continued to show as a SS at the event. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square balls up. Hands are clean and presents well out front but needs to improve foot speed, and play through a low approach to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Brandon shows a balanced, open setup with rhythm. Hands work through a level swing path and he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers continue to improve as he learns to use lower half more. At the event, he was 3 for 5. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.
