08/25/2024 - National Showcase - Atchinson, KS Brandon is a versatile 2030 player who excels as both a right-handed pitcher and catcher. Behind the plate, he tracks the ball effectively to his glove, presenting a solid target for pitchers. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and demonstrates good spine angle when blocking pitches, enhancing his defensive capabilities. At the plate, he starts from an upright and open stance, showcasing smooth timing in his swing. He tracks the ball well to the bat and uses the entire field to make contact. On the mound, he consistently picks up his target early and repeats his delivery, landing square to maximize accuracy. He throws a fastball that sits between 54-56 mph, alongside a curveball and a change-up. With plenty of time for further growth and development, he has a promising future in baseball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
