03/30/2014 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Brandon is a lean, athletic OF that will graduate in 2016. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting / power abilities through an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He uses his lower half well and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he learns to stay inside the baseball to utilize all fields. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.30 60 time. In the OF, he utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles, displaying range. He needs to read balls better and work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Brandon has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his offensive abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
