06/17/2010 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Brandon is a medium built, 2-way player that plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Brandon has quick feet, playable hands, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He is a good communicator on the field, and he has an idea. Defensive grades can further improve if Brandon can add arm strength and improve his accuracy to his target. He may be better suited for 2B at the next level. On the mound, Brandon currently has average Varsity stuff and he competes in the zone. He pitches to contact, changes speeds, and goes at hitters. Added arm strength and improve off-speed pitches should help mound effectiveness further improve. At the plate, Brandon is an aggressive hitter with good balance. He has decent bat speed, and barrel accuracy, and he gets out of the box quickly. Brandon will need to add strength, level off his swing, and have a more firm back side in order for hitting numbers to get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
