02/07/2010 - College PREP - Mobile, AL Brandon is a three-sport athlete in high school (baseball, basketball, football). As an outfielder, he tracks the ball well and shows average glove work. His arm generates speed, but comes from a very low arm slot which reduces the carry and accuracy he needs as an outfielder. He should work on coming through the baseball more on his approach. A solid long toss program with specific throwing drills could help bring arm slot to a higher position so that it is more effective. Offensively, he keeps his head and front side closed and sprays ball to all fields. He needs to improve his fundamental approach and create a stride and load. This will put him in a better hitting position and allow him to be more consistent and athletic as a hitter. Less use of the shoulders in his swing could bring more bat speed down the road.
