08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Brandon is a solid/athletic 2-way player who showed his versatility during his time at Pirate City. He is a coachable player who takes information and can make the adjustments quickly. In the OF, he works lightly on his feet and covers a ton of ground to his right and left. He works through the ball aggressively, gains ground with a crow-hop and fires accurate throws into his target. Offensively, this switch hitter shows similarly from both sides. He has a patient approach and waits for a pitch he likes. He went 2 for 6 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He battles at the plate and proved to be a tough out. Once on base, he gets good jumps and isn't afraid to take the extra bag on pitches in the dirt, helping to put himself into scoring position. On the mound, this RHP has a repeatable delivery and pounds the zone with strikes. He drives off of the rubber and works downhill. FB shows sink and cut, topping out at 74 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with loose spin. Getting stronger glove-side lead & tuck while developing his off-speed pitches will help to take his skills on the mound to the next level. This 2019 grad is a hard worker who should find success on the diamond as he enters his senior year.
