01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Brandon is a RHP/OF prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. On the mound, Brandon separates his hands on time and works with a quick arm. He extends through his release and stays inline toward the plate, finishing square to his target. Brandon shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 83mph. Breaking ball sits from 72-74mph with sharp 11-5 break. In the field, Brandon shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws with carry through his target. Overall, Brandon is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Brandon played hard out in Omaha and showed ability as a two-way player. In the field Brandon showed a good ready position on the balls of his feet. He worked hard to square the ball and made clean exchanges. His throws around the diamond were strong. At the plate Brandon had an open stance with loose hands. He started his rotation on a firm front side and separated his hips and hands well. He shows the ability to be a gap to gap hitter. On the mound Brandon showed a FB/CB mix with the FB up to 82 with some movement and a CB that had sharp 12-6 break and was an advanced pitch. He has a good presence on the bump and works balanced and downhill. He finishes at his target with chest over knee and finishes his rotation. Overall Brandon showed great all week with some excellent outings on the mound.

05/12/2019 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Brandon is a RHP/SS prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Brandon gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Brandon shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph. Curveball sits from 68-69mph with 12-6 break. Slider sits from 68-70mph with solid movement. Driving his lower half more can help Brandon improve as a pitcher. In the field, Brandon shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. Brandon can improve defensively by attacking the ball more aggressively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact and gap to gap pop. Consistently extending through the ball can help Brandon improve as a hitter. Overall, Brandon is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
