01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This LHH catcher continues to shine. Offensively, he stands in well with athletic actions and a strong base. He has a knack for squaring the ball up as it jumps off of his barrel. He hits the ball where it's pitched with the ability to use the entire field. He gets out of the box and down the 1B line with speed - moving very well for his 6'4"/200lb frame - 60 in 6.83. Behind the plate, Branson sits in low with flexion. He centers pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest and is quick to his feet. Transfer/exchange is quick as he puts strong/accurate throws on the bag - pop times now as low as 1.90. Pure hitting catchers are in high demand - Branson is fun to watch and will play at a very high level.

07/10/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National East Audette had a solid showing at the event behind the plate with the makings of a special type player at the next level and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. The baseball explodes off the bat when centered, creating back spin. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest to date at 2.10. Arm strength is outstanding as indicated by his top velocity of 85 mph at the arm strength station with throws displaying life, accuracy, and on line carry. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play at the next level. Branson will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This strong lefty continues to swing it well. With the bat, he has quick hands and jumps on the first good pitch he sees. He has bat whip connecting and driving the ball with pop. More lower 1/2 drive will help to tap into even more power potential. At 1B, Branson moves well for a big guy. He shows athletic actions and moves well laterally. This lefty has skills that will play at a high level.

01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Audette continues to shine on the diamond. His all-around skill-set and solid build make him a commodity any team wants to have. With the stick, this strong righty waits for his pitch with good zone awareness. His fluid actions allow him to get back into a loaded position with a strong trigger. Barrel delivery is quick with lower 1/2 drive, resulting in consistent/hard contact. Behind the dish, he shows athletic actions and has quick footwork. He replaces and gains ground toward 2B, with pop times now in the 2.15 range. Overall - as only a sophomore, this backstop has huge upside and will gain some attention from college coaches.

10/24/2012 - Arizona Freshman/Sophmore Fall Classic Branson is a an impressive young catching prospect. Only a 2016 grad, he already has the type of frame that coaches look for in a catcher at the next level. As he fills out, he will be a strong, durable backstop. Behind the plate he shows a strong accurate arm with good carry. His times in the 2.25 range will improve as he quickens his exchange. He shows soft hands as a receiver. A wider base and some more experience on balls to his glove side will make him a very competent receiver. At the plate, Branson shows exciting left-handed pop that makes it easy to see him as a future run producer. His swing and frame create natural leverage and allow him to drive balls to all parts of the park. His head discipline and balance are excellent throughout. As he continues to shorten his swing, more consistency will follow. Overall, a LH hitting catcher with power is an extremely attractive commodity. Expect Branson to get a lot of interest from college programs over the next few years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
