06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Braxton is a 2023 1B who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series in Omaha. In the field, he starts on the balls of his feet and has efficient footwork while creating good fielding angles. He gets into a low fielding position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action that fits position. At the plate, he hits from an upright and closed stance. Starts with activated hands and has good timing. He keeps weight between his knees and rotates back hip to contact point. Has natural power in to both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during BP. In live game action, he reached base 5 times with a HR, 2 singles, and 2 base on balls. Overall, Braxton is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this 2023 grad.

03/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Springdale, AR Braxton is a class of 2023 1B prospect. He shows off a physical frame with room to continue to gain athleticism. At the plate, he hits from a simple and repeatable stance/load. Does a good job staying relaxed and hitting the ball where pitched with his use of the whole field. Works to hit the ball from gap to gap and shows off power potential with exit velos as high as 82 MPH. Consistently shows the ability to find the barrel and drive the baseball. In the infield, he does a good job activating his feet with his pre-pitch actions. Shows aggressive movements downhill on balls hit to him. Does a good job of reading the ball off the bat and getting good angles. Braxton is a good prospect that should have a chance to play at the next level as he continues to work to develop in his remaining years of high school.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
