10/27/2010 - Arizona Fr/So Fall Classic - 2010 Brayden is a young (2014) OF with an average frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.43 60 time. Feet are active in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls in the OF as he works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally displaying range with hands and feet working well together in getting rid of the baseball quickly. Throws show accuracy but must get on a long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength with carry. Offensively, Ellis shows a balanced approach that allows his hands to work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Hands are quick and direct, generating bat speed through a level swing path. Power numbers will increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. His best trait may be his desire to learn and work hard through a positive attitude as he is very coachable. With 4 years to further develop, Brayden has a lot of potential with the makings to be a special type player as he continues to improve.
