11/22/2009 - College PREP - Germantown, TN Brayden is a young, 2012 graduate that shows as a two-way player at SS plus on the mound with an athletic frame with projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is a near above average as indicated by his 7.28 60 time as he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active as he shows a low approach but needs to be more aggressive in playing through the baseball with his feet and hands. Hands are soft, clean, and sure in making all the plays as he shows average defensive abilities in the middle of the IF. Arm strength is solid average as his throws shows life, carry, and accuracy across the diamond. He will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength, raising velocities. At the plate, Owen continues to shine displaying solid average abilities and power through an aggressive approach. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path as he shows a solid feel for the barrel. Power numbers will increase as he learns to load more, utilizing his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-83 mph with arm side run and sink on a downhill plane that creates tough angles on hitters. Off speed pitches are near average needing further development to be quality pitches at the next level. Command and control can be an issue as he needs to work on throwing more strikes with all his pitches. With 3 years to further develop, Brayden has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
