08/28/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Augusta, NJ Brendan continues to shine in his baseball abilities. In the IF, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around as he works to square balls up. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic, squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/21/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - Session 2 (HS) Brendan is a coachable 3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series. In the field, Brendan gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws to his target. Moving quicker on his feet can help Brendan make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a controlled stride. He shows smooth rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and sprays line drives to all fields. Brendan can generate more pop off the barrel by getting more extension through his swing. Overall, Brendan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

04/24/2022 - All-In Membership - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Brendan is a 3B in the class of 2023 out of Easton, PA. At 3B, he showed active feet with range to his glove side and back hand. He got low when fielding the ball and presented the glove early to track the ball to the pocket. He made clean exchanges on the transfer before throwing the ball across the diamond. Brendan can benefit from an arm path/long toss program to strengthen his throws across the diamond from 3rd. As a hitter, he uses a tall stance with a good load to work to a balanced launch position. He keeps his hands low in his set up and works on plane throughout the swing to find square contact. He showed good power in his bat to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Brendan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
