12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Brendan continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. In the OF, he reads ball well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Glove action is sure as he presents out front. At the plate, hands are loose and work on plane to the ball. He is aggressive as he works on time and shows the ability to hit pitcher’s pitch. At the event, he was 1 for 3 with 2 BB. On the mound, he works out of the stretch only. Fastball showed a range of 74-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin. Control is a plus as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches, mixing well. Stock on the mound will increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/23/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Brendan is a OF/RHP in the 2026 class. In the field, he shows the trust factor to make the routing play look routine. Has pre-pitch movement and centers his body to the baseball. Pocket has feel and catches at the highest point. His exchanges are clean and his throws are on-line at 82 velo. Working to stay behind the baseball will eliminate the drifting actions and allow him to work through the ball and follow his throws for improved accuracy. On the mound, he stays directional and shows good balance. His FB sat 73-6 and pounded the zone. His SL ranged 70-2 and was in the zone with 10-3 shape. His CH shows feel with FB arm speed at 68-9. At the plate, he begins in a squared and athletic stance. He is on-time with the pitch and his rhythm is smooth. Has a balanced approach and path is short. Engages his lower half well and can use the whole field. Overall, Brendan is a solid two-way player in the 2026 class.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
