02/18/2024 - National Showcase - Fremont (San Jose), CA Brenden is a SS/RHP who continues to shine on the diamond with each Factory event. He has made improvements since the last time we saw him. He ran a personal best 8.57 60 and saw his raw velo jump to 66 mph. In the field, his feet were active and he showed solid range. His double play actions were crisp and his techniques on his flips and turns showed promise. Working to stay in his legs and use his forward momentum will aid to his accuracy. On the mound, he begins with a comfortable set up and engages his lower half. Stays directional to his target with an on-time separation. He uses a 3 qtr slot to establish an upper 50’s velo FB. At the plate, At the plate, he starts in a open position and works to stay inside his feet. Hits off a firm front side and works to establish a line drive approach. Overall, Brenden keeps moving forward with his game and scouts are eager to see further improvements at his next event.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Brenden is a gifted 5ft 2/96 SS/RHP in the 2029 class. Scouts loved his make up and how competitive he was during the West Coast Winter Classic. Defensively, he works hard at his craft and was attentive during the drill stations. Coaches were impressed how quickly he picked up new techniques and witnessed how he applied them to the game action. He showed agility in the field and his arm works at 64 velo. On the mound, he competes and works ahead in the count. Showed extreme toughness after taking a ground ball back up the box off the body and stayed in the game to register the last out of the inning. Throws a mid to upper 50 FB (59 top) and mixed in a CB at 50-1. At the plate, coaches described him as a gamer. He worked for his pitch and barreled up several balls. He strung together a few quality at-bats and was robbed of a hit on a hard liner to SS. Overall, Brenden loves the game and coaches enjoy working with him. With more time on the field and obtaining proper reps, he can become a special player with his drive and passion for the game.

10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Sonoma, CA Brenden is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who will graduate in 2029. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. On the mound, fastball shows range of 56-59 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 6 years to further develop, Brenden has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
