05/30/2010 - College PREP - Springdale (Fayetteville), AR Brennan is young, athletic, 2-way player that Catches and plays SS. He currently projects equal at both positions, and still has time to improve at both. Behind the plate, Brennan has quiet actions, he looks the ball in, and has firm / soft glove. He centers and deadens the ball on his chest when blocking. Defensive grades can improve if Brennan can widen his base, block balls in the dirt rather than try to catch them, and add arm strength. At SS, Brennan gets in a good ready position and has soft hands. He fields the ball out in front of his body, he follows his throws, and delivers the ball accurate across the diamond. If Brennan can work in a lower fielding position, attack the ball more aggressively, and quicken his exchange, abilities at SS can improve. Offensively, Brennan has good bat speed and barrel accuracy. He has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and a loose grip. Brennan squares the ball up on the barrel well, and makes good use of his lower 1/2. Hitting grades can improve with higher hands and a more level swing.
