12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Brent is a 2027 SS who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament in Pirate City. At SS he shows athletic actions and good agility with active feet. He works from right to left and fields from an athletic fielding position with a low funnel. He made accurate throws across the diamond from a 3/4 arm slot with a recorded arm velocity up to 77mph. At the plate he hits from a relaxed and tall stance with comfortable hands. Shows a controlled load with activated hands and has good bat to ball skills. In live game action he reached base 4 times with 3 singles and a walk. He has good fundamentals and athletic actions that should improve with continued growth and development. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

08/23/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Brent is a talented and athletic OF/SS in the 2027 class. On the grass, he has active feet (7.30 runner) and covers his defensive zone well. Works well behind the baseball and creates positive energy through the catch. Catches at the highest point and his exchanges are clean. Arm is loose and whippy and plays well at 74. On the dirt, he shows excellent range and athletic ability by using numerous arm slots based upon his defensive zones. Shows advanced feel on his spins and turns and has knowledge about the position. At the plate, he is rhythm with the baseball and swings with intent while showing controllable actions. Creates line drive production with bat speed at 78 exit velo. Overall, Brent is a must follow in the 2027 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
