01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Brentin is a 2027 C/RHP prospect out of Livingston, MT who recently showcased his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the plate, he gets in a relaxed stance pre-pitch and does a nice job of giving his pitcher a good target with his hands presented out front. He shows off efficient lateral movements and does a nice job of staying low when receiving. He creates momentum with his release and creates some backspin with his throws. He is on-time blocking balls in the dirt. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance with comfortable hands. He has an activated load and very controlled rhythm. His swing is on-plane and shows off impressive bat speed. He makes hard consistent contact. He reached base in 3 of 7 plate appearances with 3 walks in game action. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and works hard to stay around the strike zone with his offerings. He has good poise on the mound, with a simple starter step and a relaxed knee lift. He gets on-time separation and has a clean arm action on the backside. His FB shows some run to the arm side and does a nice job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. He was able to strike out 2 over 3 innings of game action and allowed only 1 run. Getting more extension when finishing should help Brentin stay around the zone more with his offerings. Overall, he is an exciting prospect that we look forward to seeing more of in the future.
