10/02/2024 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2027) Brentin Allgood has made a strong impression as a versatile right-handed pitcher and catcher. His participation in the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic showcased his dedication and competitive spirit, evident in his aggressive play style and commitment to improvement. With a 60-yard dash time of 7.35 seconds, Brentin demonstrates solid speed, contributing to his overall athleticism on the field. Behind the plate, Brentin recorded a pop time of 2.25 seconds, showcasing his quick release. His ability to control the game from this position is noteworthy, and he consistently displays good bat-to-ball skills, highlighted by his personal best exit velocity of 85 mph. 08/24/2024 - National Showcase - Billings, MT Brentin is a 2027 RHP/C who stands out with his agile and athletic defensive setup, demonstrating impressive skills in his secondary stance and blocking. His arm velocity reaches up to 75 mph from a 3/4 arm slot, with a best pop time of 2.44 seconds. His lateral range in blocking and downward chest angle contribute to his effective defensive performance. At the plate, he showcases a short stride and active hands, enabling him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity of up to 80 mph. On the mound, he exhibits a clean arm stroke and breaks hands at the midline, throwing a fastball, slider, and circle changeup. The circle changeup particularly shines as his most effective pitch during bullpen session. Overall, he is a promising prospect with a solid foundation in both catching and pitching, and continued growth and development are anticipated as he refines his skills.

01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Brentin is a 2027 C/RHP prospect out of Livingston, MT who recently showcased his skills at the Rookie Pre-Season All-American Tournament. Behind the plate, he gets in a relaxed stance pre-pitch and does a nice job of giving his pitcher a good target with his hands presented out front. He shows off efficient lateral movements and does a nice job of staying low when receiving. He creates momentum with his release and creates some backspin with his throws. He is on-time blocking balls in the dirt. At the plate, he starts in a closed stance with comfortable hands. He has an activated load and very controlled rhythm. His swing is on-plane and shows off impressive bat speed. He makes hard consistent contact. He reached base in 3 of 7 plate appearances with 3 walks in game action. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and works hard to stay around the strike zone with his offerings. He has good poise on the mound, with a simple starter step and a relaxed knee lift. He gets on-time separation and has a clean arm action on the backside. His FB shows some run to the arm side and does a nice job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. He was able to strike out 2 over 3 innings of game action and allowed only 1 run. Getting more extension when finishing should help Brentin stay around the zone more with his offerings. Overall, he is an exciting prospect that we look forward to seeing more of in the future.

08/27/2023 - National Showcase - Missoula, MT Brentin is a 2027 C/RHP prospect with an athletic frame from Livingston, MT. Behind the dish, he gets in a good setup and shows off quick feet with good lateral movements. He receives in an athletic position with firm hands and really sticks the ball. He does a nice job of working through the baseball. He has quick knees and gets in a great position when blocking the ball. He gets a good down angle with his chest and keeps the ball out in front. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance and gets a short stride to the pitcher. He has a line drive approach and does a great job of letting his hips work through contact. He finishes strong and gets good extension on the back end of his swing. He did a nice job of barreling the ball consistently and recorded a max exit velo of 79 MPH. He works hard to keep his swing path direct to the baseball. On the mound, he gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. He has a nice controlled landing and works hard to finish squared to the plate. He is a strike thrower with a 4-pitch mix from an over-the-top slot. His CB shows some good break and his SL has some break as well. He throws a circle change that has a nice MPH difference from his FB and should develop nicely with more experience on the mound. Overall, Brentin is an intriguing prospect that we are excited to see continue to develop!

06/23/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Brentin is a 2027 C/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Select Training at The College World Series. He's very coachable. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit, with athletic actions, and good agility. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Made accurate throws to 2nd base as he recorded an arm velocity up to 72mph and a best pop time of 2.38 seconds. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch. He works with good tempo and works with good direction down the slope of the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 65mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. In live game action, Brentin worked 2 innings of no-hit ball and punched out 3 batters. At the plate he hits from an athletic and closed stance. He shows a fast barrel through the hitting zone with natural juice in his swing. In live game action, he had 2 singles, and 2 base on balls. Brentin showed good athleticism on the mound and behind the plate with a strong desire to be coached. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/10/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Brentin is a 2027 grad out of Livingston, MT who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and did so at the Select Training event in Arizona. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.72 range. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 64 mph. Fastball showed a range of 57-64 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

08/07/2022 - All-In Membership - Billings, MT Brentin is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. Behind the dish, Brentin is active moving to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. He receives with a firm glove and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and works to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Sitting in a lower stance can help Brentin improve his overall catching ability. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance with center balance. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half, spraying line drives to all fields. Taking a square stride toward the pitcher can help Brentin barrel up more baseballs. On the mound, Brentin operates with a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph. Breaking ball sits from 49-52mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 59mph. Knuckle curve sits at 45mph with good movement. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Brentin improve his pitch command. Overall, Brentin is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
