07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Brett is an OF who showed solid all-around abilities at Pirate City. Defensively, he shows good aggressiveness and tracks down balls hit to his right and left. He plays through the ball and makes accurate throws toward his target. At the plate, Abbot display a tall and slightly open stance and square stride. He went 4 for 9, including 2 singles a double and a triple. He showed progression from the first day on and was coachable and willing to improve. As a 2106 grad, Brett still has a lot of time to make the improvements necessary to get him to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
