06/27/2010 - Team One South 2010 Brett is a small, athletic, 2nd baseman with good skills. Defensively, he has quick feet, sure hands, and fluid actions. He has good range, he moves well laterally, and he fields the ball cleanly. Brett finishes off plays well, and throws accurately with a strong arm to his target. At the plate, Brett has good balance, a short stroke, and good bat speed. He has a simple / quiet approach, a level swing, and he can hit to all fields. More use of his lower half will only help offensive numbers further improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
