08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Brian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 2B, hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

04/30/2017 - College PREP - Fort Myers, FL Brian is a talented young 2018 2B prospect. As a 2B, Brian has active pre pitch movement, makes the routine play, and makes accurate throws to the bases. If he continues to present a low/early glove, field on the balls of his feet, have a smooth exchange in front of his body, and play through the ball, he will increase his overall ability at the position. At the plate, Brian has a balanced stance, loads his hands back, and recognizes balls and strikes. If he continues to create rhythm in his hands, get his front foot down on time, and attack the inside part of the ball, he will continue to make consistent contact. Driving the back hip into the ball, and staying through contact longer will help him increase his ability to create power in his swing as well.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
