07/15/2010 - Cape Cod Training 2010 - Session 2 Brian continues to show steady play in his baseball abilities. Defensive grades have improved as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls in the OF as he works to get behind. Throws flash carry as he will benefit by getting on a long toss program. Offensively, power grade has improved as he generates bat speed through his hands. He shows a solid feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered as he displays strength in his swing.

06/13/2010 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Brian is a strong OF that will graduate in 2011. Defensively, Brian works to get behind the ball well, and makes plays on balls hit his way. His hands and feet play okay together and he throws accurately to his target. Brian can improve defensively if he can build confidence and quicken his actions. Offensively, Brian has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a good trigger, keeps his head on the ball, and make a good pivot with his back side. If Brian can raise his hands, shorten up his swing, and get more extension through the ball, offensive grades can get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
