02/19/2022 - Mid-Atlantic Offensive Skills Weekend (HS) - Columbia, MD
Brian Lowen, SS
2023, North Lebanon HS (Jonestown, PA)
Very clean and mechanically sound swing. Sets up athletically, creates great space and stretch in his load with staying inside the ball during the swing. Stays balanced and allows good posture to sequence well to pull his hands through the zone, resulting in consistent hard, line drive contact. Middle approach showcases his ability to time the ball correctly and hit in all situations.
07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS)
Brian is a coachable SS prospect out of Jonestown, PA who worked hard on his skills during the Pro Select Training & Tournament. In the field, Brian shows smooth footwork and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Brian build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets into a simple load and works through a compact swing, producing solid contact. Brian can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. Overall, Brian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as Brian enters his junior year.
09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament
Brian continues to shine on the diamond. Foot speed his improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.32 runner. At SS, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open/athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.
07/28/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18)
Brian is a solid, strong MIF who will graduate in 2023. In the MIF, he displays clean/smooth actions and works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he's a team player, works hard, hustles, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Brian has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.
