08/04/2010 - College Prep Super Regional - Middletown, CT - AM Brian is a small, thin, RHP who will graduate in 2011. On the mound, Brian repeats his delivery well and he keeps his eyes to his target. He is around the plate with his pitches and shows a nice, tight CB with good break. Brian gets decent push off the rubber and will need to add arm strength and finish off his pitches more in order to further improve. Offensively, Brian has a good set-up, he tracks the ball well, and he throws his hands to the ball. He has average bat speed and can work the ball to all fields. Brian will need to improve his load, shorten his stroke, and let the ball travel deeper into the zone in order for hitting grades to get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
